UCL School of Pharmacy opens its doors to the public as part of its 180th anniversary celebrations

19 April 2023

People of all ages came together to learn more about the profession of pharmacy and to engage in our research at UCL School of Pharmacy.

Professor Nick Barber talking about the Pharmacy profession in Victorian times.

Visitors had an enjoyable time, learnt more about the profession, and had input into our future research. Exhibits included 3D models of neurons, the opportunity to experience virtual reality settings and a Victorian pharmacy, and an explanation of the history and development of the profession.

Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with our Pharmaceutics research team in their development of new dosage forms for the paediatric population by taking part in a series of activities. Children enjoyed a treasure hunt and colouring activities.

Other events to celebrate 180 years of the School of Pharmacy were aimed at past and present staff and alumni and included lectures on the history of pharmacy and seminars highlighting the achievements of four Research Departments of the UCL School of Pharmacy.

Many thanks to the organising committee for arranging this series of activities.
