Research summary
Sara Garfield has over 20 years experience in health services research with specific qualitative expertise. She has specialised in understanding patients' perceptions of medication, factors influencing patients' decisions about treatment, shared decision making, medication adherence, safety and quality of medication use and the involvement of members of the public in data collection and analysis.
Teaching summary
Sara has specialised in teaching research methodology to pharmacy students at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. She leads the research modules for the MSc courses and co-ordinates the students' projects. She is lead author of the 3rd edition of the book 'Conducting Your Pharmacy Practice Research Project.' Sara also teaches in the area of patient and carer involvement with their medicines and helps with OSCE assessments.
