Exoplanets Missions

These are some of the missions which are used in our Exoplanets research

Plato

ESA's PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars mission - Plato - is a medium class mission which aims to find and study exoplanets. It particularly aims to find the properties of terrestrial planets around Sun-like stars in their habitable zones.

ARIEL

The Atmospheric Remote-sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large survey - ARIEL - is a medium class ESA mission. It will observe 1000 exoplanets in visible and infrared wavelengths to determine the composition and structure of transiting exoplanets.

Gaia

Artist's impression of the Gaia Satellite

The astrometry of the Gaia satellite can detect the wobble of nearby stars due to the orbit of exoplanets. It is expected to find tens of thousands of exoplanets within 500 parsec of the Sun.
