The Planetary Health Report Card (PHRC) is a medical-student driven initiative designed to inspire medical schools globally to introduce climate change and planetary health into the medical curriculum. The PHRC was developed as an institutional advocacy tool by a group of medical students at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, with the purpose of increasing planetary health awareness and accountability among medical schools.

Medical students from 96 medical schools in 12 countries have taken part in the initiative this year, which aims to compare medical schools based on discrete metrics in five main category areas: Curriculum; interdisciplinary research in health and environment; university support for student planetary health initiatives; community outreach and advocacy centered on environmental health impacts; and student-led and campus sustainability.

UCL’s report card was coordinated by medicine students Trizzha Feliciano, Catherine Napper, Luisa Alamo-Gomez, Selina Aziz and Isis Calado.
