The Big "C" - Cancer in 2021
We are delighted to continue our UCL Medical Sciences Lecture Series throughout 2021. We believe that science can save the world, so we’ve designed these lectures to inspire year 11 and 12 students and engage them with the fascinating world of medical science.
Join us on the 18th May at 17:00 (UK Time) for a free talk and Q&A with UCL's Ursula McGovern, Doctor and Consultant Medical Oncologist, on The Big C - Cancer in 2021.
In this talk, you will hear about where we are with cancer care in the UK. We'll bust a few myths, and put some preconceptions of cancer treatment to the test and discuss some of the breakthrough new treatments for our patients living with a cancer diagnosis.
Dr. Ursula McGovern is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at University College London Hospitals. She specialises in the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer and leads a number of clinical trials. In her role as a UCL Honorary Associate Professor, she runs the oncology teaching programme delivered by UCL Medical School, and is the Undergraduate Programme Lead for the UCL Cancer Institute, helping train and encourage UCL students to become the cancer physicians and researchers of the future.
We hope that you can join us for us for this insightful talk.
