The UCL Research Staff Development Programme (RSDP) is designed to help academic, research and teaching staff to develop skills for research, professional and career development. Research staff are encouraged to engage in a minimum 10 days for skills development pro rata every year. To maximise your growth, please take advantage of a variety of activities on the programme. 

Join the University and College Union (UCU) to gain access to its CPD programme which is aimed at improving members learning and personal development as well as providing its members with career support and opportunities to network with other staff.

The Arena Centre's workshops, courses and resources all support staff who wish to be professionally recognised for their educational practice through our Advance HE-accredited Arena Fellowship scheme.

UCL Careers are dedicated to supporting all current UCL students, Researchers (staff and students), and recent Graduates to help you find the right path to ensure success in your future career.

PhD students are expected to spend at least 10 days a year on skills improvement. Explore the Programme to hone your science communication skills, try entrepreneurship, be informed of different career paths, improve your performance at interviews, etc., and most of all, be inspired!
