- Insert DVD (Stop DVD player)
- ‘Leaf’ through DVD folder Video_TS and find out which file you want to take clips from and put it on the desktop.
- Open the HandBrake software by clicking on the icon (a cocktail glass and pineapple)
- [A file browser pops up. If it doesn’t, click on Source in the upper left menu]
- Find the *.vob file you want to convert, select it and click Open.
- In the HandBrake window, make sure that Formats is MP4 file and Codecs is AVC/H.264 Video / AAC
- Start converting (or ‘ripping’ by clicking the green Start button in the upper menu
- [This process can take a long time, hours, if the file is big. If you stop in the middle, no new file is created.]
- When the program has finished, a confirmation message appears. Click OK.
- You find the converted file on the desktop (unless you have directed it somewhere else). It has the same name as the file name as the unconverted one, but the additional extension *.mp4 is added.

For 'cutting', use
Imovie.
