A Journey Through Online

Language Learning

Assessment

Assessment of students is a way of finding out what they know, understand and can do, as well as an opportunity to provide formal or informal feedback. Summative assessment (e.g. exams, tests, self-assessment) is of learning, while formative assessment (e.g. feedback, tasks) is for learning. Both are powerful forces in student learning. Examinations and assignments are the two most commonly used approaches to assessment in the online environment.
