SOAS students and staff

There is a reciprocal arrangement between SOAS and UCL, which allows Taught Postgraduates of each College special privileges over and above those usually offered to University of London members.

Staff and postgraduates 

Under the special UCL/SOAS agreement, and in line with the wider University of London reciprocal agreement, the borrowing privileges will be as follows:

• Staff: 5 books
• PhD/MPhil students: 5 books
• Taught postgraduates: 3 books

Access for undergraduates

SOAS undergraduates are not able to borrow but can obtain reference access for the academic year.

To apply

To apply for membership, staff and postgraduate applicants must complete the online registration form and attach:

1. A passport style photo (colour, facing camera).
2. A photo/scan of your home institution ID card showing level of study and expiry date.
3. A photo/scan of proof of home address (for instance, a valid driving license or recent utility bill).

Undergraduate applicants must complete the registration form and attach:

1. A passport style photo (colour, facing camera).
2. A photo/scan of your home institution ID card.
