Support options for the physical and virtual spaces at UCL.
Support is available for physical spaces such as teaching rooms and meeting rooms, including the use of our 'basic hybrid' solution to enable remote students to attend. There is also support for live virtual teaching sessions. Find out more about live online and hybrid teaching in Term 2.
- Teaching rooms
Where there is a telephone, use the pre-programmed button for priority access to ISD IT Services. This is the most effecive way to get help, please use this facility for any issues encourntered with the AV system. If there isn't a phone in the room you can call 020 3108 1972, or use the Live Chat facility available on the ISD Help & Support web page.
ISD also provide staff with a Meet & Greet service during key events or lectures. The purpose of the meet and greet is for a member of the ISD team to show UCL staff how to operate the AV equipment effectively and make any reasonable adjustments requested for the smooth running of an event. Please see booking instructions below:
See Teaching room instruction videos for common audiovisual tasks.
- Meeting rooms
Please call IT Services on 020 7679 5000 (internal 25000). Alternatively, you can email IT Services.
- Hybrid teaching
Many teaching spaces have ‘basic hybrid’ technology which allows teachers to use Zoom or Teams from the classroom and be heard by remote students. Running hybrid classes is challenging both in terms of technology and pedagogy – before attempting this staff should read our guidance on basic hybrid teaching.
We’ve created a printable guide to help you make use of the basic hybrid technology (camera and audio) in our Lecturecast-enabled teaching spaces.
- Virtual teaching
Support is available for virtual or online teaching using Zoom, MS Teams, or any UCL-provided IT equipment (including visualisers).
If you encounter an issue during an event and require urgent support, please dial the hotline on 020 3108 1972 or extension 51972. Alternatively, you can use the Live Chat function on the ISD Help & Support page.
For non-urgent support, please log your incident with IT Services by emailing email@example.com or phoning 020 7679 5000 or extension 25000.
