Supporting employees with health concerns

Emotional and mental health

You can refer members of your team to the Employee Assistance Programme: Staff Support Service for a mental health consultation if they need someone to speak to someone.

Speak to counsellor about concerns or situations you are dealing with as a manager. Call 0808 196 5808 and select option 3 for manager support.

Managing Stress at Work - use the guides and toolkits if someone you manage is experiencing work-related stress.

Bereavement and loss support toolkit - this toolkit has been designed to help managers and colleagues support their teams when a person dies.

People Management Essentials - a self-paced online programme designed for any people managers.

  • Provides accessible, practical training in day-to-day people management
  • Clarifies the role and responsibilities of people managers and what UCL expects of them
  • Signpost key guidance, policies and procedures as well as further opportunities for development
  • Encourage reflection on managing people and how to navigate common people management challenges

Hybrid Working - all materials and guidance to support managers with Hybrid Working is available on the One Stop Shop for Hybrid Working, including the UCL Supports initiative aimed at increasing awareness of the different ways UCL can assist staff.
