The first day in post and beyond

These resources are aimed at helping you get to work once you have started.

Checking that we have your correct contact and bank information

It is important that once you have signed and returned your contract of employment that you log into MyHR Self Services to update your bank account details to ensure that your first salary payment is paid into your nominated bank account. (NB: You will only be able to access MyHR once you've received your contract of employment, and on or after your commencement date).

Getting set up at work

There are various administrative tasks that you will need to take care of before you will have full access at work.

  • UCL Communities of Practice - professional services staff can connect with others doing similar roles through our Communities of Practice
  • Staff networks - equality, diversity & inclusion committees and social networks for all staff

  • Students' Union UCL - The Students’ Union is a charity funded through grants and the surplus made through running on-campus venues. The Union runs a hardship scheme for students facing financial difficulty, homelessness, poverty, no access to food and other essentials. Consider donating to the Students’ Union hardship fund through a small monthly deduction from your salary with UCL Give As You Earn scheme.
