Infection

Our goal is to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infection, using novel approaches to analyse linked health records from across the NHS.   

We study the epidemiology of a range of infection threats, including influenza, severe bacterial infections, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections.  

We have a strong translational focus, encompassing health interventions such as using video-observed therapy for tuberculosis treatment, screening and hand hygiene and the management of infections in primary care.
