Combined functional ultrasound imaging to identify epilepsy

This project aims to use combined functional ultrasound imaging and ECoG recordings to identify networks activated in occipital lobe epilepsy. Part of the Cities partnership Programme.

15 September 2022

The purpose will be for a team from the UCL lab to spend a few days working in the lab of Prof Picaud in Paris. Specifically we will bring our expertise in ECoG recordings and preclinical epilepsy models.

This novel collaboration will allow us for the first time to combine electrographic (graphene-transistor array) recordings and functional ultrasound imaging to identify areas of the brain activated and recruited during occipital lobe epilepsy. We hope this will be the start of a long and productive collaboration between our labs in London and Paris, respectively.
