ANCI Mayoral Visit & Conference

A cross-national conference on innovation in urban governance. Part of the Cities partnership Programme.

15 September 2022

This project seeks to organise a conference connecting young mayors and civic leaders from across Italy with academics and innovative practitioners around urban regeneration.

The conference is a collaborative effort across UCL’s Urban Lab, ANCI (The National Association of Italian Municipalities), and various scholars and researchers at UCL. It seeks to discuss issues and hopefully find innovative solutions and ideas pertaining to contemporary and emerging issues relating to urban governance. At its core, the conference aims to broaden the horizon of young Italian administrators, and to give them inspiration about new approaches and methodologies relating to issues in their own geographical areas of focus.

The conference is intended to be a high-level training experience, and participating administrators will see first-hand the positive effects of various urban regeneration initiatives implemented in London – from Camden Town to King’s Cross.
