The Francis Crick Institute is dedicated to understanding the fundamental biology underlying health and disease. This state of the art biomedical research facility brings together 1500 scientists and support staff working collaboratively across disciplines and encourages both scientists and the general public to find out more about what goes on inside through a range of tours and seminars. UCL staff can also host their own events at the Crick.
Seminars and events
Crick Clinical Grand Rounds
The Crick’s Grand Round event series explore the link between clinical practice and fundamental research: showing how a molecular understanding can contribute to diagnosis and treatment. Audience spaces are open to all scientists and clinicians at Kings College London, UCL and Imperial.
Details of the next event will be circulated once registration opens. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email crf-admin@crick.ac.uk.
Medicine at the Crick
The Crick’s regular Medicine at the Crick event series showcases major advances in biomedical science and raises awareness of the medical implications of major scientific advances. The events are designed to bring lab-based scientists together with clinicians to consider the latest advances in biomedicine and how they might impact the treatment of patients and stimulate new ideas and collaborations.
Each event comprises a series of talks and a panel discussion. Interested members of the Crick and wider UK biomedical community, as well as members of the academic medical press are invited to attend.
The events take place in March, June and November every year. Find out more information and how to register for the latest event here.
CrickMed: Pitch and Match
A forum for Crick scientists and external clinicians/clinical academics to identify potential collaborators by giving three minute pitches to an audience from the Crick and partner NHS Trusts/universities. Audience spaces are open to all scientists and clinicians at Kings College London, UCL and Imperial.
Details of the next event will be circulated once registration opens early in the year. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email crf-admin@crick.ac.uk.
Clinical Research Fellows Meeting
This annual event takes place in Spring and aims to bring together clinical fellows based at the Crick with other clinical fellows from across the UK. The event is predominantly aimed at doctoral clinical fellows and MB-PhD students however, postdoctoral clinical fellows are also very welcome to attend.
Attendees will include fellows who are part of the 4ward North Clinical PhD Academy, fellows at CRUK centres nationwide and fellows based at Crick’s five clinical programme partner institutions: Imperial College London, King's College London, UCL, The Institute of Cancer Research, Barts Cancer Institute/Queen Mary University of London.
The Crick pitches this event as a great opportunity for fellows from a range of clinical backgrounds to share research interests, discuss challenges to developing a clinical/academic career, hear clinician scientists speak about their career progression, and participate in talks about interesting science.
Details of the event, including how to submit an abstract for a short talk will be circulated once registration opens early in the year. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email crf-admin@crick.ac.uk.
Crick BioImage Analysis Symposium 2024
25 November 2024 - 26 November 2024, 9:30- 16:30, The Francis Crick Institute
The Crick BioImage Analysis Symposium (CBIAS) aims to showcaes image analysis techniques to biomedical researchers and to demonstrate how such approaches can help them advance their research.

Crick-Partner University PhD Student Symposium
This symposium takes place every year in early July
