Get one-to-one advice
Whether you're exploring options, writing applications or want support with preparing for live or recorded video interviews, our range of different appointment types will give you tailored one-to-one support.
To help look after the health of the UCL community during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, ALL one-to-one appointments will take place online, (using Teams), as it is safer to do. Where connectivity issues may prevent you from getting careers support in this format, please do get in touch with us. Please follow the booking guidelines for different appointment types below for further details.
Whether you're unsure about your future options, want to talk about how the current situation might be affecting your career plans or how you can enhance your career prospects in a changing and challenging labour market, please know that you're not alone and a short guidance appointment is an excellent place to get some professional advice. This appointment type can be used as a starting point for discussing a wide range of topics with one of our Careers Consultants.
Whilst the current situation is having a significant impact on recruitment globally, some employers are still promoting remote work opportunities and internships, and further study and scholarships are still open to applications. In these challenging times, it's even more important to ensure your applications make a positive impact. This appointment is aimed at those who have drafted an application, (CV, cover letter, personal statement etc.), for something specific and want advice on how to improve it before sending it off.
If you've been invited to a live or recorded video interview, this role-play style appointment will aim to simulate the experience of the real thing to help you better understand the process and improve your interview technique. It's also an excellent opportunity to highlight and fix any software or connectively issues before heading into the real thing.
If you haven't been able to find what you're looking for in ‘Explore your options’, ‘Find opportunities’ or ‘Prepare to apply’, and you are unable to book an appointment, we might be able to help via email.
