At UCL we offer many types of rooms and have defined them more clearly below.

Single Rooms 

A single room for one person equipped with a single bed.

  • Single (catered) - A room for one person, equipped with a single bed (catered)
  • Single (en-suite) - A single room with en-suite facilities including a private shower and toilet
  • Single (large en-suite studio) - A self-contained flat with one slightly larger room for living and sleeping, with a larger kitchen and bathroom
  • Single (large not en-suite) - A large room for one person, with a single bed and shared bathroom (catered
  • Single (small not en-suite) - A small single room with shared bathroom (catered)
  • Single (not en-suite) - A room with a single bed and shared bathroom (catered)
  • Single (small en-suite) - A small room for one person, with a single bed and private bathroom (catered)
  • Single (small studio) - A small single en-suite room with kitchenette area (self-catered)
  • Single (standard en-suite studio) - A self-contained flat with one room for living and sleeping, a small kitchen and a bathroom
  • Single (studio) - A single, en-suite room with kitchenette area (self-catered)
  • Single (large studio) - A double en-suite room (for single occupancy) with kitchenette area (self-catered)
  • Flat (single) - A one-bedroom flat with single bed, separate kitchen and small living area (self-catered)
  • Duplex single room en-suite -  A room which is spread on two floors connected by an internal staircase
Double Rooms 

A shared room for couples

  • Double (en-suite) - A room for a couple, with one double bed and en-suite facilities including a private shower and toilet
  • Double (large with integrated kitchen) - A large double en-suite room (double occupancy) with kitchenette area (self-catered)
  • Double (large with separate kitchen) - A large double en-suite room (double occupancy) with separate kitchen (self-catered)
  • Double (open plan kitchen) - A double en-suite room (double occupancy) with kitchenette area (self-catered)
  • Double (separate kitchen) - A double en-suite room (double occupancy) with separate kitchen (self-catered)
  • Double (studio) - A double en-suite room (double occupancy) with kitchenette area (self-catered)
Twin Rooms

A twin room is shared by students of the same gender. A twin room is furnished with two single beds and furniture, such as a desk and wardrobe, for each student.

  • Twin (not en-suite) -  A room for two single people, with two single-sized beds
  • Twin (not en-suite) (catered) - A room for two single people, with two single-sized beds (catered)
Family Accommodation 
  • Bungalow (two-bed) - Family accommodation with two bedrooms and a separate living room, plus full kitchen and a bathroom
  • Flat (one-bed) - Family accommodation with separate bedroom and living room, plus full kitchen and bathroom
