UCL will be closed from 5:30pm on Wednesday 27 March until 9:00am on Thursday 4 April 2024.

UCL East campus building access

Weekend opening hours will be in operation throughout the closure period as follows:

• 7am to 10pm - students and staff
• 9am to 6pm    - general public

Our Security team will of course be on duty throughout in both buildings 24/7.

Study spaces and facilities

• One Pool Street 1^st floor Study Hub – 7am to 10pm
• Marshgate 4^th floor project space – 7am to 10pm
• All study spaces on campus that are not within the library - 7am to 10pm
• One Pool Street Digital Accessibility Hub - 8am to 10pm for those students who have approved access
• Marshgate media clusters are open normal hours (rooms 226, 227, 228 - 9am to 9pm, rooms 301 and 300 - 9am to 6pm)

Library

• The Marshgate library and student helpdesk in the library will be closed throughout the closure period but four libraries at Bloomsbury will remain open, 3 of which will be open 24/7.

Staff workspaces, labs, studios and workshops

• Closed throughout unless open for a period by special arrangement.

UCL East campus catering outlets

• Catering spaces will all be closed throughout the closure period.
• Outside of the closure period during the student holidays, these catering outlets will be open Monday to Friday only as follows:
• Pool Street Café - 08:30 to 17:30
• Marshgate Café  - 08:00 to 18:00
• Refectory - lunchtime opening only – 11:30 to 14:30

The following are now closed until the end of the student holidays when the summer term begins:

• Refectory Coffee Shop – closed until Mon 22 April
• Staff Common Room – closed until Mon 22 April

Pool Street Shop

• Our neighbourhood shop is closed throughout the closure period and student holidays, reopening on the first day of the summer term, Monday 22 April

A range of support services for students are available throughout the closure period.

• Students can access the UCL 24/7 Student Support Line, which is a free, confidential wellbeing service available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

• The closest A&E to UCL East and the One Pool Street Student accommodation is Homerton Hospital (Homerton Row, Hackney, London, E9 6SR) or The Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel Rd, London E1 1BB).
   
• Newham Mental Health Crisis Line/Crisis Support covers the UCL East campus and is open 24/7 on 0800 073 0066
   

• Staff can access our Employee Assistance Programme: Staff Support Service. A confidential, 24/7 mental health support, as well as information on legal, financial, housing and family related issues, available to all UCL staff via ourSupport and is available for both personal and work-related matters.
