UCL East Community Christmas Lunch: A Heartwarming Celebration

11 December 2023

On Thursday 7th December, UCL East opened their doors to local organisations that support older people across East London and invited them to Marshgate to join the Student Union’s Christmas Fair.

Guests were welcomed by a (virtual) log fire and festive tunes as a backing track to a range of arts and craft activities. Guests were sat across tables with students while they unleased their creativity on hand made Christmas cards, festive canvas paintings and decorated seasonal terracotta pots.

After finishing a selection of the crafts, guests were invited to down their paintbrushes and glue sticks and continue festivities in the refectory for a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. It was lovely to sit round tables to bring the local community together for some festive fun!
After dinner, the guests were able to take a look at our Gaia globe – and help to map out the fastest routes around the word from the North Pole!
