12 June 2020

City Mill Skate is an exciting new proposal to build skateable obstacles as part of the new UCL East campus on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

City Mill Skate is a research project that uses a shared design process to build a proposal for the construction of permanent skateable objects at UCL East.

It is part of a wider set of initiatives across UCL that seek to broaden participation in education, and ultimately to change perceptions of what attending university can be like.

City Mill Skate is building a diverse community of skateboarders around the site of the UCL East campus. While it had planned a programme of events throughout 2020 - including design and making workshops, DIY build test projects, and skate lessons - it is focusing on virtual events and activities while physical distancing restrictions are in place.
