Based at UCL on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, GDI Hub is formed of an Academic Research Centre and a Community Interest Company.

The hub is building a disability innovation movement: to change how we think about disability through co-design, collaboration, and innovation. It brings together the talents of disabled people and the expertise of practitioners, academics and local communities.

In the next ten years it aims to become the leading place to research, study, practice and share disability innovation, globally.

GDI Hub has just been awarded a £10m flagship grant from the Department for International Development to improve access to assistive technologies; testing user-centred design of technology; trialling innovative service delivery; and opening market access in priority countries.

GDI are also sharing knowledge and expertise with partners in Tokyo as they prepare to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
