Nominate exceptional colleagues for a UCL Provost Education Award 2023

Submit your nominations for outstanding contributions to the learning experience and success of our students in this year’s Education Awards.

The UCL Provost’s Education Awards recognises the work of colleagues that is less visible to students – work that has enabled excellent practice or facilitated innovation in teaching and learning.  

This includes recognizing the work of postgraduate students who teach and Professional Services who support students' learning.   

The shortlist will be announced at the UCL Education Conference on Wednesday 19 April and winners will be announced in an in-person celebration ceremony on Wednesday 7 June.

Note that Faculty/VP Office deadlines and processes will apply and your local area will communicate this to you shortly. 

New for 2023

New for 2023, we have considerably shortened the nomination form to 300 words, and Faculties/VP Offices will be able to:

  • Submit up to 8 nominations with no more than 6 teams and 6 individuals
  • Indicate their two strongest nominations

Categories and criteria for nomination   

Nominations for the UCL Provost’s Education Awards must show evidence of sustainable success and impact on student learning and experience. 

Categories:

•    Assessment & Feedback 
•    Openness & Inclusion 
•    Digitally Enriched Learning 
•    Postgraduate Teaching Assistants 
•    Student partnerships  
•    Student Support  
•    Supporting Students' employability  
•    Sustainability 

Examples of what nominations might include.

Assessment criteria

•    Benefit to UCL student learning and support 
•    Clarity of evidence of impact on creating an inclusive student experience and education commensurate with the nominee’s context. 
•    Sustainability of impact beyond the immediate work carried out to ensure that maximum benefit can be gained from the work.    

Nominations process

Step one: nominator 

Identify the individual or team you would like to nominate   Submit your nomination to Faculty or Professional services unit. Local Faculty deadlines and selection processes will apply.   

Step two: Faculty or VP office

Review nominations and set up a selection panel and: 

​​​​​​Submit up to 8 nominations using the Awards nomination form to Moira Paganelli to be considered for UCL Provost’s Education Award by Friday, March 17, 2022, 5pm.    Every individual or team whose nomination is sent to the Provost’s Education Awards panel will receive a Faculty/VP Education Award. 

    The UCL Provost Education Awards are part of The Education Awards, which comprise of:
