Late summer assessments

If you have failed an exam or have been granted deferred assessment, you will be expected to complete your reassessment during the Late Summer Assessment period.

UCL’s Education Committee has been working towards the introduction of late summer assessments in order to improve the student experience and better align UCL with the rest of the UK Higher Education Sector.  UCL has been running a pilot for the last two years and has now introduced late summer assessment across the institution from the 2017 to 2018 session.

The Late Summer Assessment period will apply to all students both Postgraduate and Undergraduate at UCL.  If your department has advised you separately about reassessment you should continue to liaise with them about your reassessment arrangements.

If you have failed an exam or have been granted deferred assessment, you will be expected to complete your reassessment during the Late Summer Assessment period.

The Late Summer Assessment period is the next opportunity for assessment and will be counted as a full attempt of reassessment, if you are unable to attend an examination or complete any assessment then you need to apply for a deferral under the Extenuating Circumstances regulations
