DSD: Planning a short film
Course Description:

Planning your short video is crucial to saving time and improving the quality of the final product. This session will cover the process of planning a short video and give an overview of the key considerations.


Please ensure you are using Desktop@UCL or the UCL VPN when booking because you need to be on the UCL network to use the system.

Once you have enrolled, you will need to click on the play button under 'My current enrolments' in My Learning to join at the time of the live session. You will also receive an email from ISD containing the direct joining link a day before the session. Please check your junk folder as these emails are occasionally tagged as spam.

We would encourage those who are new to Microsoft Teams to join within the first 15 minutes of the advertised start time in order to test out their connection/audio. The actual session will start on the hour.
By the end of the session you will be familiar with:
  • Looking at genres and some examples of short documentary films
  • Thinking about how to identify your key audience and tell your story
  • How to successfully storyboard and plan your film
  • Ways to pitch your film idea and utilise feedback
