DSD: Excel tips and tricks
Course Description:

This one-hour demonstration session will cover lots of tips and tricks for working with Excel. There will be something here for everyone. Users of all Excel for Windows and Macintosh versions are welcome.

Once you have booked on the course you will be able to access all of the online materials in our Digital Skills Development Moodle course.

IMPORTANT:

Once you have enrolled, please check that you have received a confirmation email from MyLearning. You will also receive an email with a joining link at least one day before the session.

Courses start on the hour but please join during the 5 minutes prior to this to download resources and test out your connection/audio.

Objectives:
Tips covered include:
  • useful keyboard shortcuts,
  • ways to select large areas, blocks of data,
  • inserting a line break into a cell,
  • autofill,
  • autocalculate,
  • naming cells and ranges and why,
  • data bars conditional formatting,
  • splitting windows,
  • creating custom views,
  • freezing rows / columns,
  • hiding rows / columns,
  • adding your favourite commands to the quick access toolbar,
  • the repeat command (helps with formatting).

This course is aimed at those wishing to become more efficient and productive Excel users.
