Reminder about planned service outage
This is a reminder that the next SITS/Portico upgrade to version 10.7 will begin promptly at 5pm on Friday 12 April. Portico and associated services, such as online payments, UCL Select and the Applicant Portal will be unavailable during this time.
Access to Portico is expected to be restored from 10am on Monday 15 April. Associated services will also be made available at or shortly after this time.
Staff are reminded that the application processes for extenuating circumstances and interruptions will be unavailable while Portico is offline and are encouraged to process applications in-progress ahead of the outage where possible. Please reassure students that new applications can be submitted as soon as the service is restored and the outage window will be taken into account. For further guidance to support your students, please refer to the advice on EC claims during the Portico outage.
Extensive testing of the new version of SITS has been carried out by a wide range of user and support teams to ensure the processes and functions you currently use in Portico will continue to operate as expected after the upgrade. This includes services that take data from Portico, such as Moodle and the timetabling system (CMIS).
Please share this information with your colleagues to help with planning around this down time. Advanced notice of this interruption of service has been placed on the Portico login screen and is being communicated to staff and students via various channels.
