New Visitor Set-up Process

The process for registering a new visitor to UCL. This will allow the visitor to collect an ID card. It will also allow you to request rights to borrow from the library and set up a UCL computer account on their behalf.

Services System

The UCL Services System enables Departmental Administrators and other departmental staff, as nominated by the Head of Department, to request and revoke access to UCL services for members of their department including staff, visitors and, where appropriate, students.

Function Overview

  • » Set up a departmental visitor
    Allows users to register a departmental visitor, which will in turn allow them to gain access to UCL services. Visitors will then automatically be able to collect an ID card.
  • » Library access rights
    Visitors can be granted borrowing rights from the library by requesting this service. Staff and students will already have this these rights.
  • » Request a user ID
    Users can request a UCL computer user ID for their visitors and honorary staff. This will allow them to access various UCL IT services.
  • » Revoke a user ID
    It is possible to revoke a user ID for any user, be they visitor or existing student or member of staff. Use this to close their computer account once they have left.

The information is only used to personalise your home screen and information is not passed between browsers. All other uses of collected data (e.g. improving search results, usage reports/analytics) employ aggregated, anonymous data.

Depending on your browser settings, the cookies required to manage your Recently Used list have already been set. You can remove or block them via your browser but this will prevent that feature from working.
