14 March 2023
Public Engagement for Early Career Researchers
As greater emphasis is being placed on involving the public in research and sharing the benefits of research beyond academia, funding for this type of activity is still limited, especially in the arts, humanities and social sciences. However, a lack of funding should not dissuade people from engaging in this vital work. This interactive online seminar will use lecture style content, case studies from UCL researchers and activities to explore how people can employ the three main methods of public engagement (inform, consult and collaborate) in a meaningful way, but on a ‘shoestring’ budget.

This session will help you to:

  • Enhance your knowledge and understanding of public and community engagement
  • Navigate the varying pathways to meaningfully engage with the public on a limited budget
  • Identify ways to ensure ethics are considered to generate funding

Register here   - you will receive a link for the Zoom meeting after you have registered.

  • This seminar will be led by Audrey Tan, Public Engagement Manager (Arts, Humanities, Laws, Social & Historical Sciences, & IOE), UCL Engagement, RIGE, UCL
  • The seminar was initiated by Dr. Ned Barker, ECR Coordinating Group Member / Senior Research Fellow, Culture Communication and Media, Institute of Education and Society, UCL
