We all love email, it’s probably the most successful piece of technology ever, allowing us to work productively, collaboratively and flexibly. However, there is a tipping point where it becomes overused, overwhelming and relied on to the point where we can forget to talk to each other.
All this impacts our well-being.
The challenge to reduce emails
One PS are setting all professional services staff a challenge – to try and bring down the number of emails we all send and receive, and to improve those that we do send.
We know we can't eliminate email altogether, in fact we don't want to, we just want to find ways of using it more efficiently and making better use of new and existing communication platforms (including the telephone!) in order to improve our wellbeing.
For this challenge to work, we will need all professional services staff to play a part. We also know that what works well for one team or department might not work well for another, so what we are asking for you to do is to start a conversation to decide how best to approach this in your team. We want you to talk about it, consider your options, as a team commit to three actions and tell us what you are doing via the feedback form below.
