The faculty boasts 130 principal investigators, including five Fellows of the Royal Society, 15 members of the Academy of Medical Sciences and three Senior Investigators of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Our clinical mission is to provide the highest quality medical care, as practitioners of medicine and leaders of the NHS, and to work in partnership with patients to fulfil our research and teaching missions. Our clinical academics act as physicians in partner hospitals, with programmes of national and international standing in major medical specialities.

Health and Safety

Early Career Researchers
The Early Career Researcher Network provides support and advice to PhD student and researchers in the early stages of their career within the UCL Division of Medicine.
The Division of Medicine was the first UCL unit to achieve an Athena SWAN Silver Award under the progressive new charter in 2017. We successfully renewed the award in 2022.
