Women and Girls in Science
Athena SWAN role models
The Athena Swan charter is a gender equality framework used across the higher education sector. Participating institutions and departments use the charter to improve gender representation, progression and the working environment for all staff.
'You wouldn’t want me on your team because I’m a woman, you’d want me on your team because I’m a hard-working, decent and capable human being.'
'We are now at the stage where our computational predictions can be translated into clinical trials and that is something I am very excited about – the potential to improve cancer patients' outcomes.'
'My PhD supervisor, Judith Campisi is my role model. She is an amazing woman and scientist and I learnt a huge amount from her. Smart, humble and always excited about science, no matter what.'
