Main Library open for Click and Collect

Owing to a problem with the heating in the Wilkins Building, the UCL Main Library is currently open for Click and Collect only. There will be no access to study spaces in the Main Library during this time.

The UCL Estates team are working on this issue as a priority. We expect to be able to reopen the Main Library after the Christmas vacation period.

Alternative study spaces

All other library sites remain open. The nearest alternative study spaces are in the Science Library or Student Centre. Please check the opening hours before you visit.

Click and Collect

You can still access the Main Library collections through our Click and Collect and Scan and Send services.

Log into Explore to order items for collection. You can request up to 10 books at a time, but you must remain within your borrowing limit.

You will receive an email notification once your book(s) are ready to be collected. Books will then be held for three working days (these are Monday - Friday, excluding Bank Holidays and UCL Closure Days).

Scan and Send

You can also request for scans of print books and journals to be sent to your UCL email. You can request up to 5 scans at a time although due to copyright restrictions, we can only scan one chapter, one article or 10% of a book or article.

Using our libraries 

If you are planning on using our libraries, please remember face coverings are mandatory for all students and staff while you are indoors on campus, unless you are medically exempt. Please continue to abide by the UCL Community Commitment to Protect each other and be considerate to people’s needs.
