Human Tissue Act training and working with clinical information

Research staff and students are reminded to undertake training in the rules governing the use of human tissue, set out in the Human Tissue Act, before working with human tissue and/or data.
The MRC online toolkit provides an e-learning course http://byglearning.co.uk/mrcrsc-lms/course and certificates of competency must be provided to the local HTA Designated Individual.
Research staff and students must also be aware of the rules governing the use of clinical information and patient confidentiality. Courses and online training programmes about information governance can be provided by SLMS.
