Deadline approaching - science writing competition

24 November 2014

The deadline is fast approaching for the latest Access to Understanding science writing competition.

PhD students and early career post-doctoral researchers are invited to write a plain English summary (up to 800 words) of pre-selected research articles spanning basic through to clinical research. The competition seeks to increase public understanding of science and to encourage researchers to consider public engagement and translation of research as an integral part of the research process.

The competition, run by the British Library, eLife and Europe PMC, is open to all current biomedical and life sciences PhD students and post-doctoral researchers with a maximum of six years' experience following completion of their first PhD. The winner will have their entry published by eLife. For more information about the competition visit the Europe PMC website.

The deadline for entries is 9 December 2014.
