Exhibit your research at the UCLH open day

30 April 2014

UCLH is holding a massive research open day and researchers are invited to exhibit interactive stands to actively engage with patients, schools and the local community.

If you would like to put your research on show in a way that is accessible and stimulating, applications are now being accepted, with support offered for the creation of highly interactive stands.

UCLH will open its doors to demonstrate its research focus and commitment to engaging with the public as a centre of world class research. There will be up to 25 stands in the main atrium of UCLH, which always has a high footfall, and an awards process for successful exhibits/engagement.

Engagement with the public and the promotion of choice and access to clinical trials is a key healthcare priority nationwide and is increasingly expected, if not required, by funders and as a part of research career development. This is a great opportunity to carry out public engagement and culture a two-way conversation between researchers and the members of the public.

Where and when?

The open day will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 10 July with research stands situated in the main atrium.

Deadline: Applications must be received by Wednesday 14 May.

To register your interest contact Kavita Mehta at Kavita.Mehta@ucl.ac.uk with the following details:

  • Name of research team or department
  • Numbers of researchers who will manage the stand on the day
  • A brief description of your research
  • A brief description of ideas for your stand, including any innovative activities you will stage and material you will have available to hand out
