Research award launched at UCLH

The award, launched for the first time this year as part of the trust's Celebrating Excellence Awards, aims to recognise an individual or team who have demonstrated considerable achievements in delivering world-class research at UCLH and in meeting Trust and NIHR objectives.

Deadline for nominations, which can be made by researchers, research staff and patients, is 31 October and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in February 2013.

Nominations can be on the basis of a portfolio of research, a single project, or support for the infrastructure of research at UCLH. Nominations should demonstrate at least 3 of the following:

• outstanding contribution to the development of novel treatments, interventions or methodologies
• excellence in the delivery and recruitment of patients to research studies
• contribution to the engagement and support of research participants and patient groups and/or the public
• excellence in delivering and expanding the portfolio of world class research at UCLH.

When nominating someone, please bear in mind the contribution of the nominee/s to the Trust objective to develop high class experimental medicine and/or NIHR commitments to delivering innovation and quality research with direct patient benefit.
