Using Yammer Groups

What are Yammer Groups?

Yammer Groups create a central space for content to be posted to for a specific purpose, such as an event, department or project. You can submit posts and upload files to groups directly.

Should I use a Public or Private Yammer Group?

Public groups allow any member of UCL to join and view the content posted to this group. This type of group could be used as a platform to discuss or crowdsource ideas for college-wide initiatives.

Private groups restrict visibility of content to the group members only, who are specified by the group's owner. This type of group should be used if content should not be made available to all users.

What responsibilities do I have as an owner of a Yammer Group?

As an owner, you will have visibility of all content and will oversee membership of the group. You should also ensure that posts submitted to the group are responded to, relevant to the existing members and follow normal acceptable use conditions.
