Each project begins with a consultation stage, during which we will discuss which library preparation and platform would be best for your project.
Femto Pulse

We use an Agilent Femto Pulse System in order to accurately size and judge the quality of our DNA and RNA samples. This system is particularly good for long-read samples due to its ability to separate high molecular weight DNA. For more information on Femto Pulse, please follow the following link to the Agilent website: https://www.agilent.com/en/product/automated-electrophoresis/femto-pulse-systems/femto-pulse-system/femto-pulse-system-365750
Megaruptor 3

Some long-read projects benefit from a slight initial DNA fragmentation, and it is extremely important that any shearing is reproducible. We use a state-of-the-art Megaruptor 3 from Diagenode, to precisely and reproducibly fragment our samples in order to optimise downstream library sequencing. For more information on the Megaruptor 3, please take a look at the diagenode webpage: https://www.diagenode.com/en/p/megaruptor-3
Blue Pippin

In order to optimise some libraries, we use Labgene Scientific's Blue Pippin to perform size selection. This can be used for a variety of projects, and for both DNA and also cDNA for RNA-based projects.
