Learning health systems aim to 'realise the vision of a continuously learning NHS'. This includes: defining, structuring, creating and reusing data and knowledge; enhancing randomised controlled trials through EHRs; promoting safe, efficient and effective health and social care; and integrating research, education and clinical practice into improving healthcare.
