PGT Student Event

This case study describes how students worked together to plan a networking event for the PGT students at UCL.

Case study by Manuela Sadik

What was the aim of your project?

Our aim was to organise a networking event for UCL’s postgraduate community.

What did you do?

In our initial meeting, we divided the project’s main tasks among ourselves. There was someone responsible for poster production, another person was tasked with planning the event and another with advertising etc. Once this was settled, we decided on specific deadlines and created a schedule for everyone to follow.

What were the main successes of the project?

The event was a success. Everything went according to plan and, minus attendance, it was exactly as we had expected.

What difficulties did you face during your project? What would you do differently?

We had expected a larger attendance. If we were to host the event again, we would spend more time advertising to other faculties. However, a smaller group of attendees allowed for more intimate interactions, benefiting everyone.
