- There have been 32 Nobel Prize laureates amongst UCL’s alumni and current and former staff, to date. The most recent ones in 2024, were Professor Geoffrey E. Hinton, awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering work in artificial intelligence, and Sir Demis Hassabis, neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and a UCL alumnus, awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
- UCL is ranked 9th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2025. We are also ranked 4th in the UK and 5th in Europe.
- UCL was second in the UK for research strength in the Research Excellence Framework (2021).
