UCL in key numbers...

• There have been 30 Nobel Prize laureates amongst UCL’s alumni and current and former staff to date. The most recent was in 2020, for Professor Sir Roger Penrose, a UCL Mathematics alumnus who received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work relating to black holes. 
   
• UCL is ranked 9th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024. We are also ranked 4th in the UK and 5th in Europe.
   
• UCL was second in the UK for research strength in the Research Excellence Framework (2021).  
   
• Our diverse community of 50,000 committed, engaged and intellectually curious students represent over 150 different nationalities, with almost a third studying abroad for part of their time at UCL. 
   
• UCL’s alumni network stretches to over 190 countries worldwide, with a community of more than 350,000.
