Visitor status is for a short period of research collaboration with Bioscience PIs. The maximum time for which Visitor status can be given is 6 months for the proposed activity only.
An application to the Head of Research Department must be made with the Visitor’s Application form (ST8). Completed forms should be emailed to your EA or CA for approval.
On the first day of the visit, visitors must bring their passport so that an ID check can be carried out by the EA/CA. The visit will be recorded and a UPI generated. The host PI can then arrange for a local H&S induction to be carried out.
All visiting staff will be granted Associate Staff status. An ID card will be generated automatically and will be ready for collection shortly after the visitor record has been processed. Your visitors will need to be taken to Security Systems in the Andrew Huxley Building to collect their UCL ID – they will need to take a form of ID with them.
Visitors who need to access UCL's online services will need to request a UCL email address and will have to comply with UCL Information Security Policy. Computer accounts are generated overnight.
All visitors must have Health & Safety Induction training before their ID card is activated. Please email biosciences.inductions@ucl.ac.uk to arrange a H&S induction, providing UPI details, an email address, location of the project work, duration and the supervising PI. The Inductions team will email back with details and reminders for the training.
