Innovation policy
Mission-oriented innovation is a framework to structure R&D spending and wider policy interventions to develop solutions to bold and ambitious societal challenges, from climate change to an ageing society. By connecting top-down direction and bottom-up innovation projects, mission-oriented innovation can increase the impact of research and innovation, grasp the public imagination and make real progress on complex challenges. This can push towards the triple objectives of smart innovation-led growth, inclusion and sustainability.
