The Stiances Archaeology Project WINS Youth Engagement Project of the Year!

18 July 2022

We are so delighted to share that ASE's Simon Stevens has WON Youth Engagement Project of the Year for The Stiances Archaeology Project at the Council for British Archaeology/Marsh Community Archaeology Awards 2022!

Simon collecting his award

Huge congratulations to Simon for this award win! He had this to say:

"Given the last award I received was Southwick Cricket Club’s Junior Clubman of the Year 1986, luckily there is plenty of space in my trophy cabinet!

On a more serious note, the award is a great honour for the project, and although I was lucky enough to be the one invited to the award ceremony, the achievement is shared by all of the members of the team who have been involved since the first season of work in 2010.

Thanks must also go to the range of groups, societies and individuals who have supported the project over the years. But the biggest debt of gratitude must go to the all the Newick C of E Primary School pupils, staff and helpers for all their hard work on site."
