Creative Journeys

Our judges were impressed by the creative interpretation of the Journeys theme by these entrants.

A very convincing photoshopped edit of Journey's 'Don’t Stop Believin' album cover. The ASE staff replace the original band members.

The processing team at ASE rewrote the lyrics to Journey's Don't Stop Believin' in a very creative interpretation of the "Journeys" theme! Read the full lyrics.

A lizard sits on a grey rock wall looking at the sky. Behind the wall, there is an out of focus grey circular structure with small bricked up windows.

Looking for Venus: The photo has been taken at Chichén Itzá, Yucatán peninsula, Mexico, the 4th of June 2022. In background the El Caracol, a Maya structure dated around AD 906. It has been suggested that El Caracol was an observatory, therefore I decided to wait for the iguana to turn the head up to the sky trying to suggest a connection between nature and the ancient astronomers studying the movement of Venus in the sky.

Many fragmented photos make up a detailed collage; the photos in the middle are larger, and those round the edges are smaller. The overall colour scheme is green, cream, grey, and brown.

This image is a combination of the colors, textures, and images that make up a 3D model of a building in the Shanxi Digital Documentation Project.  The process of making these stunning models is often just as gorgeous as the final project and adds an abstract beauty to the our efforts to preserve our shared heritage. See more on our website: https://shanxi-project.org/
