UCL Accommodation Instagram Photo Competition Terms and Conditions

This competition is promoted and operated by UCL Accommodation. Details of how to enter form part of these terms and condition (‘Terms’). It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the participant agrees to abide by these rules. 

Eligibility 

  1. The prize draw is open to all current UCL Accommodation 2019/2020 residents who submit valid entries by 11.59pm on 18 May 2020. 
  2. UCL or associated third party contractor staff members are not eligible to enter the prize draw. 
  3. Residents who have left UCL Accommodation are not eligible to enter the prize draw.
  4. Participation is non-transferable and you shall only be entitled to take part once. 
  5. Participants must be 18 years of age and older. 

How to Enter

  1. Entry to the prize draw is by submitting a photo appropriate to the theme: ‘Everyday Rainbows.’ The ‘theme’ is that which is described on UCL Accommodation’s Facebook and Instagram pages and in the UCL Accommodation Flourish newsletter which is sent directly to residents weekly by email and can be found on the UCL Accommodation website and the UCL Flourish MicrosoftTeams. 
  2. Entries are submitted by posting your photo to Facebook or Instagram and tagging @uclaccommodation. Participants are encouraged to also use the hashtag ‘#uclflourish.’
  3. Any photos deemed to contain offensive, discriminatory or defamatory materials will be immediately disqualified.
  4. The prize draw closes at 11.59pm on 18 May 2020. Any participant submitting an entry after this deadline shall not be able to take part in this competition. 
  5. No responsibility will be accepted for incomplete or lost entries or entries not received. Winner will be drawn randomly by UCL Accommodation on 19 May 2020 and the winner will be notified directly via email and also announced on UCL Accommodation Instagram and Facebook.
  6. Only one entry per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified.

The Prize

  1. There is a total of 1 ‘prize’: £10 Amazon E-Voucher and ‘Win’ only entitles you to one Amazon E-voucher. 
  2. Winner of the £10 Amazon E-Voucher must make their own personal arrangements with regards to the use of the use of E-Voucher. Such personal arrangements are made at the winner’s own risk and cost. 
  3. If you are not fortunate enough to win, you shall not be entitled to any prize and we shall have no liability to you in this regard. 
  4. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative is offered. 
  5. Prizes are subject to availability and are subject to change without notice to you throughout the lifetime of the competition. 
  6. Prizes may not be transferred or sold. Any Amazon E-Voucher sold may become voidable. 
  7. Gift Amazon e-voucher is valid until the expiry date of the e-voucher. (“Validity Period”).
  8. If the winner purchases a product/service that costs more than the Amazon e-voucher value/remaining value of the e-voucher, the winner will need to pay the balance.
  9. The winner will be notified and sent the £10 Amazon E-Voucher by email on 19 May 2020 to their UCL e-mail address. 
  10. If we are unable to contact a winner, or the winner does not claim the prize within 30 days of being notified then they will forfeit the prize and a re-draw will take place to award the prize to an alternate winner and we shall not be liable to the original winner in this regard. 
  11. To claim the prize the winners must follow the instructions in the email notifying them that they are the winner. 
  12. Amazon gift e-voucher is valid until the expiry date of the e-voucher.(“Validity Period”). 
  13. If the winner purchases a product/service that costs more than the e-voucher value/remaining value of the e-voucher, the winner will need to pay the balance.

Privacy

  1. Any information and data provided or collected in accordance with the competition will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’).
  2. Personal data supplied during the course of the competition will be passed on to a third-party supplier for fulfilment/delivery/arrangement of the prize. 

Changes to these Terms

  1. We reserve the right to change or amend these Terms. 
  2. If you do not accept the notified changes, you will not be permitted to enter the competition. If you have already entered the competition, we reserve the right to withdraw your entry and shall not be liable in this regard. 

General 

  1. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse participation in this competition. 
  2. We reserve the right to refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these Terms. 
  3. The winner may be required to participate in publicity which may include the publication of names and photographs in any media. 
  4. Events may occur that render the awarding of the prize impossible to reasons beyond our control. Accordingly, we may, at our sole discretion, vary or amend the competition and you agree that no liability shall attach to us as a result thereof. We reserve the right to cease the competition, withdraw or substitute any prize at any time prior to the redemption of the prize. 
  5. We shall under no circumstances whatsoever be liable to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise for any loss (including indirect and consequential losses), damage, personal injury or death arising out of, under or in connection with the competition or these Terms.
  6. Our decision in all matters is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  7. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us and you.
  8. We may at any time assign, transfer, subcontract or deal in any other manner with all or any of our rights or obligations.
  9. If any part of these Terms is or become invalid, illegal or unenforceable, they shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make them valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Such deletion or part deletion shall not affect the validity and enforceability of these Terms.
  10. These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
