Even with COVID-19 restrictions, there are still many things you can do in the capital to enjoy Halloween. UCL student Katie Davies is here with her top picks for spooky fun!

Pumpkins at Borough Market - Discover Halloween in London

It’s no surprise that Halloween this year is looking very different from what we’re used to. Although club nights are definitely cancelled, Halloween is not! I’ve searched high and low to find the best Halloween themed events that are certain to get you into the spooky spirit.

1. Pick Your Own Pumpkin at Borough Market 

If you haven’t visited Borough Market yet, you’re missing out. Amidst the many stalls and shops, you’ll spot some of the best pumpkins around London. This is a must-visit for any student who wants to get into the Halloween spirit while exploring London at the same time.

2. Pumpkin Carving Masterclass Party at the Prince

Carve out some time to visit the Prince and participate in their Pumpkin Carving Masterclass Party. Each ticket includes a pumpkin, carving kit and a Halloween themed drink, so they’ve got all the supplies to make sure the pumpkin fun is non-stop.

3. Pimp My Pumpkin at All Star Lanes

Put your pumpkin carving skills to the test by taking on All Star Lanes’ challenge to create the ultimate skull carved pumpkin. At just £5 per person, this is a great option for students who are looking to celebrate Halloween on a budget.

4. Forbidden Forest Cinema 

If you thought this year couldn’t get any scarier, think again. Perfect for any cinema lover, Peckham’s Copeland Park has been turned into a ‘Forbidden Forest’ cinema. Screening some of the scariest Halloween classics, get ready for a night(mare) to remember!

5. Rooftop Movies at Bar Elba 

Whether you’re looking to scare yourself silly, or just love amazing views of London, Bar Elba’s rooftop cinema is the place to be when watching your favourite Halloween films. With films ranging from the Disney classic Hocus Pocus, to horror thrillers such as IT, they’ve got you covered.
