Chapter 9 includes changes to External Examining and some minor amendments to Student Academic Representation.

External Examining
The Quality Review Sub-Committee recommended changes to Section 4: External Examining which were subsequently approved by Education Committee Chair’s Action. This included the following main changes:
- Amendments to clarify that the Exam Board Chair does not need to check Right to Work documentation themselves, but is responsible for ensuring that administrators carry out these checks.
- Clarification on the information which departments must provide to new and continuing External Examiners and on the storage of their personal information to ensure compliance with GDPR.
- Minor clarifications to terminology.

Student Academic Representation
Minor changes have been added to Section 6: Student Academic Representation to update the quotes cited from the UCL Regulation for Management on the meeting frequency for Staff Student Consultative Committees (SSCC). The text has also been amended to clarify that it is the Quality Review Sub-Committee (QRSC) which will oversee arrangements for academic representation, rather than the now disbanded Student Academic Representation Steering Group. A template for SSCC agenda and minutes has also been re-instated as an annex to Chapter 9 following requests from SSCC administrators (Annex 9.6.1).
