The Division of Medicine has as its mission: the performance of innovative, high-quality biomedical research; excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; and exemplary patient care. This is accomplished through a series of specialised Research Departments, each working under a Head of Department whose aim is to bring research and clinical scholars into productive collaborations:

The Research Departments are located on the UCL, Royal Free and Whittington Campuses. The clinical bases of the Division are the University College London Hospitals Trust, the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, the Whittington Hospital Trust and the Camden and Islington Community Trust, all of which are the teaching hospitals of the Medical School.
